September Investor Meeting Highlights

Last week, following what felt like only a brief summer break, we held our September members’ Investor Meeting.

We were very excited to welcome Jess Joss in person – CEO of our regional Angel Group cooperative with Angel One & GTAN. This joint venture represents one of the largest angel groups in North America with almost 200 cheque writing investors working together.

The core purpose of these monthly meetings of course is to offer our members a curated pipeline of investment opportunities. Snapshots of the three ventures selected this month are included below.

September Presenting Companies:

Tecta PDS markets the world’s first, automated, EPA-approved microbiological water quality monitoring system – to lower overall monitoring costs and improve both drinking water quality and human health. They have over 270 systems around the world and are adopted as the method to test water in over 25 countries. Deeper Dive: September 30

Vena Medical is providing physicians with the world’s smallest camera capable of going inside veins and arteries to help physicians treat stroke. Deeper Dive: October 2

VeloGuide is an on-demand ‘ride and guide’ sharing app platform that connects traveling cyclists with local guides, high-quality, well-maintained bikes and tours anywhere they want to ride. They now have trained guides in 650 cities in 72 countries around the world. Deeper Dive: October 3

Earlier in the week all three also presented to members of our angel group partners GTAN and Angel One. Interested members of all three groups are now assembling around the scheduled Deeper Dives to coordinate due diligence and possible syndicated investment. Details of location and dial-in can be provided separately on request.

Event Update:

Our next Investor Meeting is scheduled for 7:30 am on Thursday October 17. Also, the Tecta PDS on our website includes upcoming education opportunities offered by our Angel Alliance members. On October 10 at a formal launch (and naming announcement) of our regional joint venture, we will profile selected portfolio companies from all three groups in an Investee Showcase. Representing SWO Angels from the London area will be Sensory Technologies, Freepoint Technologies, TopSpin360, Renix Inc. and Triage Technologies.
